Few nations are better positioned to launch a global peace movement than Poland. Poland’s history demonstrates that moral courage, spiritual resilience, and nonviolent resistance can reshape history. The legacy of the Solidarity movement, the witness of St. John Paul II, the sacrificial love of St. Maximilian Kolbe, and the prophetic courage of Blessed Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko offer a distinctive contribution to the world’s understanding of peace. The Foundation’s own work has already begun building bridges across political, academic, and civic life through parliamentary prayer breakfasts, university engagement, exhibitions, and dialogue initiatives. Warsaw is uniquely positioned to serve as a meeting place between East and West, North and South, historic Christian traditions and contemporary democratic institutions. The Institute will build upon this unique heritage while preparing leaders capable of addressing the emerging challenges of the twenty-first century.
History repeatedly demonstrates that investing in leaders produces returns measured not merely in financial outcomes but in transformed institutions, stronger democracies, healthier communities, and more peaceful societies. An investment in the Global Peacemakers Foundation is an investment in:
It is an investment in the leaders our world increasingly needs.
The challenges confronting humanity cannot be solved by governments alone.
Nor by churches alone.
Nor by universities alone.
They require leaders capable of building trust across every boundary that divides humanity.
We invite visionary partners, universities, churches, philanthropic foundations, corporations, and individuals to join us in establishing an institution that forms such leaders.
Together, we can create a community where future diplomats, scholars, pastors, entrepreneurs, parliamentarians, and innovators learn not only how to lead, but how to reconcile, to serve, and to build peace.
The Global Peacemakers Foundation is not simply another educational initiative. It is a long-term investment in the moral, spiritual, and intellectual architecture of a more peaceful world.
The next generation of peacemakers is waiting to be formed. Warsaw can become the place where that journey begins.
Let us open ourselves to peace! Let us receive it and acknowledge it, instead of considering it distant and impossible. Peace is not so much a goal as it is a presence and a journey. Even if it meets resistance both within us and outside us, let us guard it like a small flame threatened by a storm, not forgetting the names and stories of those who bore witness to it.
